Rate a Bounty

Rating System

Users can assign 1-5 stars to any finding. "Bounties rated by you, will show with the rating you've given." Unrated bounties display community-generated ratings that update as more people participate.

How the Rating is Calculated

The system uses a weighted formula where user reputation influences scoring impact. According to the guide, "Ratings from users with higher scores have more weight in the final calculation of the score."

The Formula

The final bounty rating combines:

  • User scores: Individual reputation metrics within the platform
  • Suggested scores: Star ratings (1-5) each user provides

Example Calculation

The documentation illustrates this with two hypothetical raters:

  • User A (reputation: 2500 points) suggests 2 stars
  • User B (reputation: 7000 points) suggests 5 stars

User B's rating carries greater influence due to higher reputation, resulting in a final score weighted toward their suggestion. This incentivizes quality assessments from experienced community members while still incorporating broader feedback.
